Vampyr: Difficulty modes update out next week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC

Press Release: September 21, 2018 — DONTNOD Entertainment’s narrative-driven action-RPG Vampyr continues to receive ongoing support, as the difficulty modes update releases next week, September 26, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There’s never been a better time for players to enter early 20th century Britain, as a special discount on Steam for Vampyr is now live in celebration of the Focus Home Publisher’s weekend.

Next Wednesday’s update includes two new game difficulty modes which add further replayability for existing players, and more options for those who haven’t yet sunk their teeth into this dark adventure through 1918 London.

Story Mode de-emphasizes combat, placing a greater focus on narrative so players can enjoy Dr. Jonathan Reid’s journey with less challenging gameplay. On the other end of the scale, Hard Mode makes combat much more difficult. Players will receive less experience from killing enemies too, forcing them to rely even more on embracing citizens to grow in power. Upon starting a new game, players will be given the option to choose from these two new modes or a third ‘Normal Mode’ if they wish to play the original Vampyr experience.

In addition to the new difficulty modes, the upcoming update introduces a host of optimization tweaks and fixes. Nvidia Ansel will also be made available for PC, which allows players to capture beautiful in-game screenshots, viewing and sharing them in 3D on mobile phone, PC or VR Headset. ‘Speed Brawl’ – The High-Speed, Momentum-Driven Rooftop Brawler – Hits Consoles & PC

Press Release: Independent developers Double Stallion and Kongregate, a leading publisher of console, mobile, PC, and web games, today announced the launch of Speed Brawl, the stylish, anime-inspired 2D combat-racer. Gear up and get ready to tear through an otherworldly gauntlet in Speed Brawl, available now* on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Steam, and GOG.

Set in Victorian-era London, the world has been dramatically changed by a war with the insect-like lunar invaders called Selenites. After claiming victory, humanity created a vicious bloodsport, “Speed Brawl,” which has attracted would-be brawlers from across the world to compete for fame and fortune. After forming a tag-team of two, combatants run the gauntlet against an onslaught of Selenites and bad-tempered human enforcers. The faster the brawlers are, the better their rewards… and the bigger the roar of the massive crowds of fans and spectators. Here’s a quick rundown of the roster of brawlers that players will be able to tag into the fray.

Ebba

Ebba’s making her debut on the Speed Brawl circuit! She’s an all-rounder whose infectious optimism belies her venomous punch. As agile on the ground as she is in the air, if you’re looking for poise and balance, Ebba’s the brawler for you!

Bia

Bia is a seasoned fighter, slow and steady wins the race, her mighty mitts will break your face. Well known in the prize-rings of London and renowned for never turning down a challenge from any pugilist, Bia is bringing her technical prowess to the Speed Brawl scene. Those filthy bugs had better look out!

Johnson

Johnson is a heavyweight boxer whose fiery rampage has toppled all four corners of the European prize-fight scene. However, upon arriving in London, this legitimate contender seemingly vanished. There are rumours of a secretive underground Speed Brawl league, and Johnson’s shadow looms large.

Cassie

Little is known of Cassie’s backstory, least of all by herself. Brought up roughly on the streets of Paris, she has since fallen in with a bad crowd on the outskirts of London. Nicknamed the “Whippet Street Rat with a Cricket Bat,” would-be opponents and league owners would be wise to never turn their back on her.

Karl

Karl Freiherr Von Ambrose of Prussia rose to fame in his teens, fighting in exhibition bouts throughout Scandinavia, Prussia and the Baltics. He’s since set the Speed Brawl scene alight and continues to fight in the prestigious Florin leagues. Karl is a master manipulator who has broken as many hearts as he has noses.

Automatom

Buoyed by the pre-Lunar War industrial revolution, Thomas Reginald Hudson turned his considerable family fortune into an iron-forged autonomous behemoth. With the strength of ten men, the stamina of a long distance runner, and the speed of a large locomotive, the machine was designed to answer the needs of the modern industrialist.

Players will need to find what tag-team combination works best for them in every challenge that the world of Speed Brawl will offer. Build out each brawler’s skills, equip the best accessories and double down on determination for the fastest and most furious fight of their lives.

These formidable fighters are ready to rumble on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Steam, and GOG. *European launch dates will be available in the coming weeks. You can find additional information about the game at www.speedbrawl.com and get the latest news on the official Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Reveal

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher and GWENT, are proud to present the first gameplay recording of their upcoming open world RPG — Cyberpunk 2077.

“What we’re releasing today was recorded from a game deep in development.” — says Adam Badowski, Cyberpunk 2077 Game Director and CD PROJEKT RED Head of Studio. “Since many of the assets and mechanics in the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely to be modified, we initially decided to show this gameplay only to media. Elements like gunplay (both in terms of visuals and how RPG stats influence it), netrunning, car physics, or the game’s UI — everything’s pretty much still in the playtest phase and we felt uneasy about publicly committing to any particular design. Animation glitches, work-in-progress character facial expressions, early versions of locations — all this made us hesitant to release what you’re about to see.”

“However, we are also well aware that many of you want to see what the media saw.” — adds Badowski. “Although this is probably not the same game you’ll see on your screen when we launch, we still decided to share this 48-minute video with you. This is how Cyberpunk 2077 looks today. Let us know what you think!”

Mutant Year Zero- Road to Eden.jpg

Announced earlier this year, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden rustled quite a few feathers when it introduced a crossbow-wielding, bipedal, and unusually sassy duck to the otherwise bleak apocalypse genre in its unique and surprising reveal CGI. During this year’s E3 in Los Angeles, Funcom and The Bearded Ladies provided press with the first-ever hands-on demo and received several “Best of E3” awards and nominations, and this week, Funcom and The Bearded Ladies are present at GamesCom giving another updated gameplay demo to press in the business area of the show.

Mutant Year Zero- Road to Eden 2

Now available for PC pre-order on buy.mutantyearzero.com, the game will be available in a Standard Edition ($34.99) and a Deluxe Edition ($54.99). The Deluxe Edition includes a desktop wallpaper, digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and a digital copy of the Mutant Year Zero pen-and-paper RPG book. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition will give you a three-day head start at launch while pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gives you the same head start as well as access to a Beta version of the game before launch.

To celeberate the release date announcement, Funcom and The Bearded Ladies will be running a special promotion during GamesCom where pre-orders on both the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition are 15% off. All you need to do is enter the code GAMESCOM2018 at checkout.

The game is based on the classic Mutant IP that has spawned several popular pen and paper role-playing games since the 1980s, including the current Mutant: Year Zero from Free League and Modiphius Entertainment.
